Dave has been
writing articles on the outdoors since
1995.
He is a
monthly columnist for
The Maine Sportsman
magazine, Maine’s oldest and largest outdoors
related publication, and was a past columnist for
The Northwoods Sporting Journal.
He writes monthly for
Hawkeye News,
New Hampshire’s outdoors monthly publication.
He has also
done freelance work for national magazines. His
articles run the range the “How to” to the “Where
to” for the outdoor sports enthusiast.
Articles have
included: "Hot to Get Moose Out of the Woods,"
"Hunting Maine Moose," "Bass Fishing in Washington
County, Maine," and "Fishing Hula Grubs," among
hundreds of others.
 Dave
is available for contract work with magazines,
newspapers, or advertising agencies for
outdoor-related articles and assignments.
He has
extensive knowledge in fishing and hunting ,as well
as non-consumptive uses, such as kayaking, canoeing,
and wildlife photography.
Dave's areas
of expertise include moose and moose hunting as well
as game calling in the Northeast.
In
2006,
Dave had his first book published, "Tactics for
Hunting Moose Across North America," Woods and
Waters (September
2006).
There are
literally hundreds of excellent outdoor
photographers, and the market is highly competitive.
Dave has
utilized his photography skills to illustrate his
book as well as articles for various magazines. He
is available for contract work or supply photographs
from his collection of stock photos upon request.
Dave’s
specialty is working with digital or film
photographs and enhancing them to make them unique.
Below is a sample of some of the work he has done
for clients, friends, and family.
Dave uses
features from various programs and stays away from
the normal mainstream programs like Photoshop.
Dave’s work has been on display in Galleries in New
England, Canada, and the United Kingdom. He also
does work for his hunting and fishing clients
producing a finished work that has the qualities of
a fine oil painting and is printed on canvas.
